The Better Business Bureau in Southeast Texas has revoked the BBB Accreditation of three businesses. The revocations were approved by the BBB Board of Directors at their November meeting.
The BBB Accreditation of SETX Landscape Construction, LLC of Winnie, Trainer Lock and Key Locksmith of Port Arthur, and JT Construction of Orange was revoked due to their failure to comply with Code of Business Practices Standards for BBB Accreditation.
SETX Landscape Construction, LLC failed to comply with BBB Code of Business Practices #1D, #5, #6A and D which states an Accredited Business must: 1. Build Trust - Establish and maintain a positive track record in the marketplace; D. Be free of an unsatisfactory rating and maintain at least a B rating at the accrediting BBB; 5. Honor Promises - Abide by all written agreements and verbal representations; 6. Be Responsive - Address marketplace disputes quickly, professionally, and in good faith; A. Promptly respond to all complaints forwarded by the BBB; D. Cooperate with BBB in efforts to eliminate the underlying cause of patterns of customer complaints that are identified by the BBB.
Trainer Lock and Key Locksmith failed to comply with BBB Code of Business Practices #1B requiring BBB Accredited Businesses to: 1. Build Trust - Establish and maintain a positive track record in the market place; B. Fulfill all licensing and bonding requirements of applicable jurisdictions; provide all license and bonding information upon application for BBB accreditation; and provide periodic updates upon request of the BBB.
JT Construction failed to comply with BBB Code of Business Practices #6A, B and C which requires that an Accredited Business must: 6. Be Responsive - Address marketplace disputes quickly, professionally, and in good faith; A. Promptly respond to all complaints forwarded by the BBB; B. Make a good faith effort to resolve disputes, which includes mediation if requested by the BBB; C. Comply with settlements, agreements of decisions reached as an outcome of a BBB dispute resolution process.
Per the Better Business Bureau by-laws, these above-mentioned businesses will have 30 days upon notification to appeal the decision to the Board Chairperson for review by the Board of Directors.
“Businesses who apply for BBB Accreditation must meet the eight standards in the BBB Code of Business Practices, and they must maintain those standards to continue their BBB Accreditation,” stated BBB President/CEO Michael Clayton.
