BBB Announces Directors for 2012-2014

            The Better Business Bureau that serves the eight-counties of southeast Texas and the Bolivar Peninsula, has announced ten members of its Board of Directors who were recently elected by BBB Accredited Businesses.  Each will serve a three-year term from January 1, 2012, through December 31, 2014. 

            Regional business leaders recently elected include Dan Bell, VP of Business Lending at MCT Credit Union; George Crawford, General Manager of Lamar Advertising; Corinne Creason, Owner of Manning’s School Supplies; Mike Hebert, President of Texas Marine & Brokerage; and Jada Kelley, President/CEO of DuPont Goodrich FCU.

             Five other leaders who were elected include Steve McGrade, President of Able Fastener; Dan Robbins, SVP/General Manager of KBMT-TV; Mark Russo, Senior Analyst with Entergy Texas; Gail Shook, Owner of Airport Travel Agency; and David Thornhill, President of Southwest Building Systems.

            These individuals join other Directors currently serving a three-year term continuing into 2012.  They include Slate Babineaux, Vice-President of Air Comfort; Tim Baker, President of Baker Auto Repair; Robert Bertrand, President of Cotton Cargo; Jim Broussard, Co-CEO of Broussard’s Mortuary; Sally Walden-Broussard, Executive Director of Spindletop Center; Barry Bryant, Sales Manager of Bill Clark Pest Control; Jed Dollinger, Senior Partner (Retired) of Wathen, Deshong & Juncker; Robert Edgar, Shareholder with Edgar, Kiker & Cross; Mike Sculley, Sales Manager with Kirksey’s Sprint Printing; and Shawn Hanley, VP of Marketing at Howell Furniture Galleries.

            Also continuing their terms on the Board next year will be Bill Hecht, CFO of CHRISTUS Health Southeast Texas Region; Tom Jordan, Owner of U.S. Flag & Flagpole Supply; Ann Scoggin, owner of Coldwell Banker Southern Homes; Paul Skinner, President of Star Graphics; Jerry Sonnier, Owner/President of Coastal Roofing Specialists; Tim Sudela, President of American Valve & Hydrant; Anthony Toups, General Sales Manager at Classic Southeast Texas; Bo Weinbaum, Owner of PRIMCO; and Ron Wheeler, General Manager of Southern Lawn & Maintenance.

            “We are very pleased to have this caliber of business leaders at the helm of our regional Better Business Bureau, which is regionally governed and funded,” said Michael Clayton, BBB President/CEO.  “Each is sensitive and committed to our mission to “Start With Trust” -- advancing integrity and an ethical marketplace throughout all of southeast Texas,” he added.
